In recent times, there has been a demand in Pakistan to ban the app Tik tok, which has become increasingly popular among people. Actually, a lawyer has approached the Lahore High Court. Advocates say Tiktok remains an instrument of obscenity in Pakistan.
According to media reports, advocate Nadeem Sarwar in his petition has called Tik Tok the greatest evil of modern times. It is ruining the youth and promoting unethical activities. The Federal Law Ministry, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) have been listed as parties to the petition.
The lawyer said that the application is having a negative social impact. Also, Bangladesh, Malaysia is banned for inappropriate content. It is being used to make fun of people. The lawyer argued that a lot of blackmailing incidents had already taken place, in which people secretly recorded the video and went viral on Tik Tok. The lawyer urged the court to direct Tik Tok to complete a ban in Pakistan.
